Willie Tibbetts

About Willie

My introduction to fitness was running.
Trying to keep up with my older brother when I was 10 and then joining the Jr high school track team.  As I progressed to high school cross-country and track, the head coach said “If you’re strong, you will never fall apart”.
I started strength training when I was 16 years old and I have kept it in my training regime since.
I’ve received comments during my road racing years, “you’re too anaerobic to be a distance runner.”
I made it to the Olympic Marathon Trials.
I received comments during my bodybuilding years, “are you sure? You’re kind of small.”
I was a champion of a bodybuilding show once.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Some said “slow down” and asked, “Aren’t you afraid?”
I’m fully recovered and back in action.
Do not let what others say define you.
Be who you want to be.
You have goals.
We are all athletes.
Embrace what you can do.
Celebrate the small things.
Small things lead to big things, so keep moving.
We’re in this healthy lifestyle together.
