The Backcountry Wilderness Area allows hunting for HRCA members who win hunting access through our lottery at the Elk Hunt Banquet in July.
We use hunting as a means to ensure healthy wildlife populations and quality habitat. We currently offer elk (cow and bull), buck deer, spring turkey, and coyote hunts. For more information on our hunting program please contact: Mark.Giebel@hrcaonline.org or 303-471-8885. Hunting is limited and permission is granted to those who win the hunt lottery. The lottery drawing takes place in July and raises thousands of dollars each year – money that is used on habitat improvement projects.
The 2018 Elk Hunt Banquet takes place July 20th at Southridge Recreation Center. Tickets will be available in June (tickets will sell out).
If you would like to receive our Hunter Update e-mails, contact Mark.Giebel@hrcaonline.org.
