Summer Swim Team (Northridge)

Seahawks Summer Swim Team provides a competitive swim experience for all levels of swimmers. Being on HRCA's Seahawks Swim Team gives swimmers the chance to be part of a team, build camaraderie, improve skills, get consistent physical activity, set and strive for goals, and most importantly have a lot of fun!

HRCA  Seahawks joined the C.A.R.A. (Colorado Association of Recreation Athletics) Swim League.  Swimmers have the opportunity to join in both home and away meets, but these are optional.

Are you looking to gain swimming experience, but are not looking for a team? Join the Seahawks Intro group that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Westridge Rec Center. Intro swimmers will have the opportunity to join in the swim meets for the session they are registered.

Parent Meeting & Swimmer Evaluations

Swim parents are the unsung heroes of our swim team. If you missed the parent meeting on April 13 – do not worry. Your swimmer may still join the team. Most of the information covered at the meeting can be found on this swim team page.

Key points from the April 13 Parent Meeting:

  • TEAM PHOTOS: May 29  at Northridge. Arrive 5:00pm for individual photos. 6:00pm Team Photo.
  • SUNSCREEN: Put sunscreen on at home before practice – we will try to be outside as often as possible and schedules change frequently.
  • Practices (what to bring): Send extra goggles – they break, leak, get lost. We recommend one-piece tank suits for girls and jammers/speedos for boys. Beach suits & bikinis do not work well in a racing environment. Send water bottles daily.
  •  Away Meets: these are new. We have a limited number of swimmers who will be able to attend. More details as we get closer to meet dates.
  • Home Meets: it takes over 60 people to set up, run, and clean up a meet.  PLEASE help out as able. We do not charge a fee for not volunteering – but we also cannot host meets without YOU! Learn more at the Volunteer Page

Swim Level Evaluations
Swimmers who register AFTER April 30 will be evaluated the first day of practice and placed into a swim group.  Current Seahawks Intro, Intermediates, Juniors, Seniors, and Elites do not need to be evaluated. If you are unsure if your swimmer meets the minimum requirements for Seahawks team, we recommend one session of Seahawks Intro on Tuesday/Thursday evenings as Westridge before joining summer seahawks.  Intro swimmers will be given the opportunity to participate in home meets.
