Volunteer

Our swim team is successful because of our wonderful parent volunteers. Parents are encouraged/expected to volunteer for at least one volunteer shift per meet. Many shifts are during swim meets and last two-three hours. Thank you for all you do to make the Seahawks swim team successful and fun for everyone!

Lead Volunteer Positions

These volunteer positions will meet with the Head Swim Coach in advance.  Volunteers will be contacted by e-mail or phone for specifics. More than one parent/guardian or parent friends are encouraged to share in the responsibilities.

  • Volunteer Coordinator - contacts volunteers by e-mail / phone to confirm attendance, answers questions about the shifts, and helps fill vacancies by reaching out to families as needed. Most of the position can be completed from the comforts of your living room.
  • Swimmingly® Coordinator - learns the Swimmingly software and attends each meet to help volunteers, parents, and participants as needed (one per meet)
  • Swim Meet Starter / Announcer - this person should be familiar with running a swim meet, starting and combining events. Use of a microphone is required. (one or two volunteers per meet)

Swim Meet Volunteer Positions

A meet cannot run without our wonderful parent (and sibling) volunteers! Each family is asked to sign up for a minimum of one volunteer shift. Coaches may ask for volunteers (especially timers) on the day of the swim meet. Wear sunscreen and comfy shoes for many of the shifts. Hot Diggity Dog will be at the meet to provide snacks, lunches, and drinks. Let's Have Fun!

Volunteer Positions & Descriptions

All volunteer positions are important to the success of a swim meet. The Head Coach will ask for volunteers the day of the event, as needed if positions are not filled prior to race day.

Note: Additional training may be needed for some positions and is noted in the descriptions. All positions are subject to change depending on meet needs.
