Instructor In Training

The Instructor in Training (IIT) Program is a program for high school students that love horses and want to continue their equine education in a hands-on setting. This program gives students real-life experiences in the equine industry to sharpen their organization, social, and responsibility skills, all while earning volunteer service hours.

IITs will shadow a Backcountry Equine Program Instructor during their sessions; and will assist with a variety of duties including horse care (such as health care, nutrition, exercising, etc…), grooming, mucking, helping with riding lessons/programs, and much more!
