Map & Directions

Base Camp

The majority of all of our programs begin at Base Camp: 6005 Ron King Trail, Littleton, 80125

Note: We are located just east of the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training facility. Please follow the signs and directions, as some smartphone mapping programs will take you the wrong way.

From the North: From C-470 and Santa Fe, head south on Santa Fe (CO-85) 7 miles and turn left on Ron King Trail.

From the South: From I-25 and Founders Parkway, head west on Founders Parkway 0.4 miles, and turn right onto North bound CO-85.Proceed 9.7 miles Northwest on CO-85 and turn right onto Ron King Trail.

Once on Ron King Trail, go about 0.1 miles and go through the gate/arch that says Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Facility.

Once you are there, follow our Elk Head logo PROGRAM PARKING on the Backcountry signs which will lead you past the Law Enforcement Training Area to the parking area southeast of the law enforcement facility.

Note: Google Maps is the only mapping program that knows where Backcountry Base Camp is located. Please do not drive on any of our neighbor’s roads or go to any of their buildings. If it’s not marked Backcountry, it is a restricted area.

Horse Corrals (at Base Camp)

The Backcountry Horse Corrals are the starting point for our trail rides along with other horse programs that denote the corrals as a meeting location. *Not all horse programs begin at the Horse Corrals. Please refer to your program description for the correct meeting location.

Directions:
Follow the general directions to Backcountry Base Camps, above, from the north and south of Ron King Trail. Once on Ron King Trail, go beneath the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Facility arch. Right after the arch, you’ll see the Backcountry Horse Corrals to your left (north). Please park in the Horse Corrals lot and walk toward the riding arenas.
