What are the specialty fitness classes?
Specialty fitness classes are offered in a monthly 4–5-week series. These classes require separate registration and payment, and attending all sessions is recommended to get the most benefit.
- Current specialty series include:
Ageless Grace: A seated brain health class
MoveMor: A seated lower-body fitness and ankle mobility class
We also offer seasonal specialty series, such as yoga workshops, ski conditioning and more. You can view and register for specialty classes here.
Are classes suitable for beginners?
Yes, most classes are designed for multiple fitness levels. Instructors often provide modifications for beginners.
Do I need to be an HRCA Member to attend group fitness classes?
No. Participants who live outside of Highlands Ranch are welcome to join our classes by paying the guest fee. They will also need to sign in manually at the access desk each time they visit HRCA recreation centers.
Are there age restrictions for class?
Participants must be aged 13+ to attend group fitness classes.
What is the cost of classes, and what passes are offered?
HRCA offers several pass options to fit different schedules and activity levels. Prices vary by age and HOA membership.

Do I need to make a reservation, or can I just show up to class?
Yes, a reservation is required to secure your spot. Class sizes are limited based on studio capacity and available equipment. To reserve your spot, visit our website and select class reservations. If you need assistance, please contact the registration desk at 303-791-2500.
What if the class is full?
If a class is full, you can join the waitlist or select a different time or location. Waitlisted participants will be notified by email if a spot becomes available.
What if I need to cancel a class?
You can cancel your class online. Please cancel at least two hours before the class begins to avoid being charged. This also gives participants on the waitlist a chance to join.
How do I know where my class is located?
Always double-check the class location before heading to class. Your confirmation email from booking will show the correct location.
What do I need to bring to class?
All necessary equipment is available to borrow from our studios. You are also welcome to bring your own items, such as yoga mats or blocks, if you prefer. We recommend bringing a water bottle and, if you like, a towel.
What should I wear to class?
Apparel depends on the class format:
Aqua: Comfortable, full-coverage swimsuit; aqua shoes optional.
Cycle: Breathable tops and shorts or comfortable bottoms; cycling or athletic shoes.
Other classes: Comfortable, breathable clothing for full movement.
Footwear: Closed-toe athletic shoes required for all classes except yoga, Mat Pilates, and Nia (done barefoot).
How long are classes?
Most of our classes are 60 minutes long. A few extended 75-minute classes are also offered and are noted in the class title.
How early should I arrive for class?
We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes before class begins. For your first class, please arrive 15 minutes early to get settled and familiarize yourself with the studio.
What happens if I'm late to class?
For safety reasons, HRCA does not allow participants to join a class more than 5 minutes after it begins. Thank you for arriving on time to ensure a safe experience for everyone.
