Highlands Ranch, Colo. — Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) is proud to announce that CEO/General Manager Mike Bailey has been named the inaugural recipient of the Nico March Hero of Community Management Award, presented by the Foundation for Community Association Research.
The prestigious national and international award recognizes exceptional leaders in community association management who demonstrate extraordinary leadership, service, innovation and measurable impact within the communities they serve.
Bailey was selected in recognition of his visionary leadership and lasting contributions to both Highlands Ranch and the broader community association industry. As CEO/General Manager of HRCA, Bailey oversees one of the nation’s largest and most complex community associations, serving more than 30,000 households while leading major initiatives focused on recreation, open space preservation, community partnerships and long-term sustainability.
Under Bailey’s leadership, HRCA has advanced transformative projects that have strengthened the Highlands Ranch through community connectivity, environmental stewardship and recreational opportunities for residents. His collaborative approach and commitment to service have helped position Highlands Ranch as a national model for community engagement and innovation.
Throughout the nomination and selection process, colleagues, residents, peers and community leaders spoke passionately about Mike’s ability to inspire others, lead with integrity, and elevate Highlands Ranch.
“We are incredibly proud of Mike and this well-deserved recognition,” said Monica Wasden, HRCA Board President. “His dedication to Highlands Ranch, his passion for community service, and leadership within the industry continue to make a lasting impact on our residents while setting a standard for community excellence both nationally and internationally.”
Bailey will be formally recognized during the Opening General Session at the 2026 Community Associations Institute (CAI) Annual Conference on Thursday, June 4, in the Grand Ballroom at The Diplomat Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The award is named in honor of Nico D. March, founder of The March Group and a longtime leader and contributor within the community association industry. The Foundation for Community Association Research established the award to recognize professionals who exemplify integrity, innovation, and a commitment to advancing the profession.
