Why not continue the agreement with the Law Enforcement Training Facility (LETF)?
While the LETF are great neighbors, the expansion of our camps to what they are today is a burdensome proposition for them to bare and there is no guarantee that they will always be willing to take on that burden. If the agreement was terminated, the Backcountry’s camps would cease to exist, along with the revenue they create.
Additionally, we have reached full capacity in the shelter they can provide. Camp Backcountry and Horse Camp do not have any room to grow. That’s unfortunate in that our camps are 100% full each summer, with many on the waitlist who we cannot serve.
