Archery Lessons & Coaches

New and experienced archers alike can take their skills up to the next level with lessons in the Backcountry Outdoor Center.

Archery Lessons & Classes

The HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area has partnered with Quick Draw Archery to offer summer outdoor lessons and classes at the Backcountry Outdoor Center Lesson Range.

Lesson-students (ages 7-18 at beginner and intermediate levels) will become experts in USA Archery's NTS Shot Cycle and range safety during this 8-week session. Their marksmanship will be put to the test as they experience archery at various distances and in a variety of weather conditions. However, fun is the goal of this program as kids learn new skills and build new friendships.

Single-session beginner classes (ages 7+) are offered throughout the summer to allow individuals and families to try out the sport of archery. For outdoor beginner lessons and classes, all equipment is provided. Attendees may use their own equipment after a coach safety inspection. Attendees should bring water bottles, closed toe shoes, and wear sunscreen.

For lessons and classes during the fall, winter, & spring, please visit for a listing of indoor archery opportunities.
