4th of July Parade Application

The Highlands Ranch Community Association’s (HRCA) annual July 4th Parade is designed to appeal to families and to bring the community of Highlands Ranch together to celebrate our nation’s birth. We invite your company, charitable organization, school group, and/or neighborhood to participate in this 1.02 mile patriotic parade.

Participant Rules and Regulations
 
  1. All parade movement must be in a continuous forward motion. Stopping or performing in place will not be permitted.
  2. All participants must be able to complete a 1.02 mile route within a 1 1/2 hour time span, at times moving very quickly.
  3. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent/chaperone. Parade units must be pre-registered with the parade producers and will formally check-in the morning of the parade.
  4. NOTHING may be thrown or tossed from the parade unit to the crowd. Should you wish to hand out candy or flyers to children or other parade spectators, such candy or flyers may be handed out by designated individuals walking along side of your parade unit. Such designated individuals must be at least 13 years of age. Items shall be handed out by the designated individuals in such a manner as to maintain a safe distance between the spectators and the parade unit and not to encourage or entice spectators to enter into the street or to encroach upon the parade route. Violators of this rule will not be allowed to return for future HRCA parades.
  5. Parade units that include animals will be considered for participation only if the animals are trained and can be safely controlled under parade conditions.
  6. All individuals participating in the parade must return a signed Waiver and Release form.
  7. Liability insurance is required for all vehicles, equestrian entries, and any other parade units as determined by HRCA. Drivers for any parade unit are required to have a valid driver’s license.
  8. Drivers of any parade unit shall have the ability to communicate with their riders.
  9. Riders on any parade unit who are standing shall have a means to prevent falling such as a railing or other support. Once the parade starts, riders may only exit or enter onto the parade unit while the parade unit is stationary. 
  10. HRCA will make decisions at its sole discretion as to the content, design and participants selected to appear in the parade. HRCA may refuse entry and participation to any parade unit and/or individual in HRCA’s sole and absolute discretion.
  11. Participants are responsible for carrying their own banners, providing their own transportation in the parade, music, etc.
  12. No open flames, smoking, or alcohol is allowed in the parade or on any parade unit.
  13. All parade floats are encouraged to have a functioning portable fire extinguisher
Registration Process & Deadline

Application Process: Complete and submit the online application form to participate in the Highlands Ranch July 4th Parade. Application must be received by 5:00 p.m. June 4, 2019. Once your entry application has been received, you will not be contacted until the week of June 22. Information will only be sent to the contact person and that individual will contact others in their group.

Payment Note: All credit card payments are held in a 'pending' status. Payments will only be processed upon your application being accepted for this event. If not accepted, your payment will not be processed. You will get a confirmation email when you first complete the application process, and again when your application has been approved. Applications that are approved and accepted will be charged the booth fee and no refunds, no exceptions.

Important Participant Information

Leader/applicant is responsible to forward parade information to everyone in your group.

No Smoking: All HRCA events are non-smoking. Please do not smoke.

Cancellations: Due to the fact that weather in Colorado changes so quickly, the decision and announcement to cancel an event is made as soon as possible before the event is scheduled to begin. If the HRCA cancels due to severe weather, the HRCA will make every attempt to contact you and will refund all booth fees. Applicant is responsible for checking the Event weather line: 303-471-8888. If the exhibitor cancels because of severe weather or any other reason, absolutely no refunds are given.

Parade Sponsorship Information

If you are interested in being a parade sponsor, there are several levels of involvement. All funds help cover the cost of barricades, the sheriff’s department, and other items needed to put on a safe and successful parade. As a sponsor you are not only supporting the community in which you are doing business, you are also giving your business great exposure.

Independence - $5,000 Sponsorship (application deadline: May 22)

  • Includes entry in parade with a leading position

  • 2-3 Sponsor thank you announcements during parade

  • Logo in HRCA News (distributed to over 29,000 households)

Stars and Stripes - $2,500 Sponsorship (application deadline: May 22)

  • Includes entry in parade 
  • Logo on web site 
  • One Sponsor thank you announcement during parade 
  • Logo on HRCA parade banner
  • Logo on flyers and posters 
  • Logo in HRCA News (distributed to over 29,000 households) 

Patriot - $1,000 Sponsorship (application deadline: June 4)

  • Includes entry in parade
  • Logo on web site
  • One Sponsor thank you announcement during parade
  • Logo on HRCA parade banner
  • Business name on flyers and posters

Minuteman - $500 Sponsorship (application deadline: June 4)

  • Includes entry in parade
