Eco Explorers

Where the wild things grow!

We believe that children belong outside. At Eco Explorers, nature is the teacher. We are mentors and facilitators, helping young children connect with their own bodies, each other, and nature within a safe explorative space at our Backcountry Base Camp. Each four-week session is themed and may include free nature play, storytime, short exploratory hikes, arts and crafts, and a meet-and-greet with live animals. Each child must be accompanied by an adult (adults may be responsible for more than one child, can bring younger siblings, and can also be the accompanying adult for a child in our Mini Camps).

Animals in Winter
When the temperature drops and the snow falls, life in the wild changes. Let your little one explore how to spot signs of wildlife in the winter, how animals build their cold-season homes, why some animals snooze for months on end, and other animal characteristics common in the colder, darker months. We’ll do short hikes, storytime, crafts, and even meet some live critters.

Spring has Sprung
As the days get longer and the sun thaws the wintry world, big changes are on the horizon for our wild. Our Eco Explorers will learn about the ways this warmer change in season affects nature like looking for signs of spring, checking on the weather, how plants start to bloom, and what wildlife does after a long winter in the woods. Expect mini-expeditions, storytime, crafts, and even a meet-and-greet with some critters.
