The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides Medicare beneficiaries with information, counseling, and enrollment assistance. SHIP Counselors are certified to answer Medicare-related questions and provide UNBIAS, no-cost, in-depth, one-on-one help. They help beneficiaries understand their Medicare benefits, coverage rules, written notices, forms, appeal rights, Medigap coverage and cost-saving programs.
In addition, we are a Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) which empowers Medicare beneficiaries by providing education and awareness on how to PROTECT their healthcare benefits, DETECT potential billing errors and how to correct them, and a place to REPORT suspected fraud and/or healthcare abuse from providers.
DRCOG also serves as the Aging and Resource Center (ADRC) for the Denver Metro area. Your case manager will work with you as long as they can help you for challenging situations, care planning , and advocacy. Language translation services are available upon request.
