Classical Music Series: The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association is proud to present a three-part series of classical music at The Highlands Ranch Historic Mansion. Each evening will include an hour's open house for self-guided Mansion tours. The performances are in the Mansion's beautiful, historic solarium.
November 7: Transfigured Night
The use of 6 string instruments (2 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos) was championed by composers such as Brahms and Tchaikovsky for the endless possibilities of expression and harmonic richness. You can hear this influence in Arnold Schoenberg’s ultra-romantic depiction of Richard Dehmels poem “Verklärte Nacht”, which is the centerpiece of this chamber music concert. Balancing out the program is a charming and fun work for the same group of instruments by the popular composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Highlands Ranch Mansion; 9500 E. Gateway Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126
