The HRCA offers a wide variety of art programs to suit any age, interest, or skill level. From Abrakadoodle programs for toddlers to painting and photography classes for teens and adults, you're sure to find a class to satisfy your creative urges! Our art classes are taught by instructors with professional expertise in their fields.
We offer ceramics and sculpting classes in the Cheyenne Studio, which boasts eight electric wheels, two kick wheels, two electric kilns, and a supportive, creative atmosphere. All glazes are made by our talented Clay Arts staff in a beautiful variety of colors and finishes. Classes are taught by working potters with 45 years of clay arts experience under their collective belts. Classes are available for students as young as 18 months, and are a wonderful way for children to develop manual strength and hand-eye coordination.

Weekend Workshops!
These workshops are fun, self-led editions of some of our art and pottery classes. Adults and children will work together to complete the week’s project – these are not drop-off classes. Register the same participant(s) for any three Weekend Workshops, and receive 20% off the fourth workshop! (You must register for all four classes at the same time with one of our registration staff members.) You are only required to register participants who will be completing a project. - Abrakadoodle Twoosy Doodlers - My First Art Class! (ages 22 months-3 years)
This is a special art class just for toddlers and parents (or helpers). Little fingers will experiment with painting, gluing, sticking, printing and creating, while developing self-expression, fine motor, and language skills. Children leave class with a FRAMED “masterpiece” ready for display.

- Abrakadoodle Mini Doodlers (ages 3-5)
Enjoy four weeks of creating art using different media and tools while learning about famous artists. We introduce the techniques of master and contemporary artists and then create our own unique masterpieces based on those techniques. We will learn about painting, collage, watercolor, and pastels using high quality artist’s supplies. Most of the children’s artwork will go home framed and ready to display!

This unique, confidence-building art program emphasizes creativity while having fun. Lear to draw with a professional artist instructor and produce an original work of art every time.

Fantasy Drawing (ages 5-7 & 8-12)

Clay Creatures (Ages 3-4)

Intermediate Jewelry Making
Students who have completed jewelry basics class or have some jewelry making experience are welcome to join this class. Explore wire working techniques as you learn to hammer, stamp and oxidize metal. Learn how to bend and forge to create your own metal clasps, pendants and bracelets. You will also gets fanastic insider tips on where to find the best jewelry making supplies for the lowest prices. Material are icluded with the class fee. Students will need to bring a set of basic jewelry making tools, bench block and chasing hammer to class. List to be provided by the instructor.
