2010 Strategic Objectives:
1. Build the Backcountry Wilderness Area to be the heart of Highlands Ranch

a. Finalize and implement the master plan for the Backcountry Wilderness Area
b. Develop a site improvement plan and begin implementation, for HRCA’s portion of Wildcat Regional Park
c. Evaluate recreational amenities, programming and potential partnerships
i. Consider outdoor recreational programming that may include: an equestrian center, archery range, community garden, chuck-wagon, and living ranch

2. Champion environmental stewardship and sustainability

a. Review resource usage and make fiscally responsible changes
b. Identify, evaluate and implement ideas that will improve and/or enhance our stewardship and sustainability

3. Recognize community contributions and promote opportunities for involvement

a. Recognize individuals and groups who make a positive contribution to our community
b. Identify and implement programs that promote opportunities for involvement and volunteerism

4. Community leaders representing the best interests of Highlands Ranch

a. Identify and pursue cost saving programs that are in the best interest of Highlands Ranch residents
b. Develop and implement Leadership Highlands Ranch program
c. Ensure that all HRCA leaders participate in leadership development experiences
d. Deliver annual State of the Association presentation to members

5. Create the foundation for Collaborative Governance

a. Strengthen partnership with community stakeholders
b. In collaboration with community leaders, identify and pursue opportunities that enhance Highlands Ranch
